About Web Design Fusion

Web Design Fusion is a web development company owned and operated by me, Matthew Way. I am a web developer, designer, and consultant for small businesses. I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina. For me, getting into web development and design at around the age of 28 just seemed to be the next step on the path for me. I always had an affinity for computers but had not really pursued a career working with them. For over a decade, I worked as a retail supervisor for major housewares companies where I learned about business operations, customer service and the statistical analysis of profit margins and expense control through the review of profit & loss reports. 

I began focusing on computers during that time and enjoyed composing reports utilizing MS Excel spreadsheets for the purpose of tracking sales figures, payroll, and profit margins of target fixtures of the store in which I was a supervisor. As I realized that I enjoyed creating useful tools with programming, I decided to learn a programming language. Late in 1998 I asked a college student what programming language I should start with. The answer I received was "HTML". I bought a book, hammered out some code and began learning how to become a web developer.

Since that time I have continued to build on my skill set and learn new technologies that allow me to help my customers keep up-to-date, modern looking web sites that function well on the internet.
